International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance

Founded in 2002 and based in Geneva, Switzerland, the International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting rainwater as a sustainable solution to water scarcity and climate challenges. 

IRHA implements rainwater harvesting projects in developing countries to enhance community health, livelihoods, and resilience to climate change. Its initiatives align closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to water, climate action, and sustainable communities. 

Areas of Cooperation 

– Joint project proposal development and follow-up of funding opportunities 

– Development and implementation of participatory methodologies / approaches for flood risk management including rainwater-harvesting. 

– Development, input and review of technical documents and guidelines related to Integrated Flood Management. 

-Facilitation of workshops and training in support of Integrated Flood Management.
